Carson's Story:
Ever since I can remember I wanted to be a veterinarian. In high school someone suggested that I join FFA because there would be opportunities to work with livestock. I joined the horse judging team, the quiz team, agriculture issues team, and we took 3rd in state in dairy judging. I started raising lambs my sophomore year, and also raised a hog and rabbits. I was Vice President and then President of our chapter as well as the President of Cen-Tex District my senior year. FFA taught me the value of leadership, hard work, humility and so much more. The TCYS Auction money I received for my lambs gave me a jumpstart in college.
The next chapter of my journey was attending Texas A&M. I worked at Texas A&M’s Large Animal Hospital in the equine surgery department and continued to ride horses and work as a barn manager. I went straight into vet school after my undergraduate degree. Upon graduation, I was blessed to find an amazing job in Spicewood, Texas, just around the corner from where I grew up. I am now living my dream as a small animal veterinarian and couldn’t be more excited to start the next chapter of my life as “Dr. Mo.”
